Bulldogs Finish Strong, Clinch SEC East Title

Georgia's baseball team had a successful 2014 season, finishing with a 38-23 overall record and a 21-9 mark in SEC play. The Bulldogs won the SEC East title and advanced to the College World Series, where they were eliminated by eventual national champion Virginia.

Georgia's offense was led by junior outfielder Kyle Farmer, who hit .356 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs. Senior infielder Connor Welton also had a strong season, batting .333 with 40 RBIs. The Bulldogs' pitching staff was led by junior left-hander Alex Wood, who went 10-4 with a 2.91 ERA. Wood was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year and was a first-team All-American.

The Bulldogs' roster featured several other talented players, including sophomore outfielder J.J. Schwarz, junior infielder Gordon Beckham, and senior pitcher Christian Adkins. Georgia's schedule included a challenging non-conference slate, with games against top-ranked teams such as LSU, Vanderbilt, and Florida.

Georgia's season ended in the College World Series, but the Bulldogs had a successful season overall. They won their first SEC East title since 2008 and advanced to the College World Series for the first time since 2009. The Bulldogs will look to build on their success in 2015 and compete for a national championship.
